As registered charities, both the Friends of Harvard University UK and the Harvard Global Foundation can accept gifts from UK and dual US-UK tax filing donors, offer tax relief via Gift Aid, and remit the funds to the US to support the University's learning, research, and educational activities. Our third charity, Harvard Global UK, is a private company. [ Donate through the Trust arrow\_circle\_right ](/where-we-operate/united-kingdom/friends-harvard-university-uk-trust) ## Urban, Architectural, and Design Research in London ![A modern, single-story house with large glass windows showcasing a brightly lit interior with colorful furniture and a tree and garden visible outside at dusk](/sites/g/files/omnuum10396/files/2026-08/22-parkside-richard-rogers.jpg) From 2015-2021, Richard Rogers’ iconic Wimbledon house provided Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) and its students with a residence to study urban, architectural, and design elements of post-World War II Europe. ### Investigating and Transforming the Built Environment GSD's commitment to design excellence and societal engagement extended around the globe with the gift of 22 Parkside—a house in southwest London designed by prominent British architect Richard Rogers. Rogers donated the house to Harvard Global UK for the benefit of GSD and established a new fellowship program, the Richard Rogers Wimbledon House Research Program, which aimed to investigate urban, architectural, and design elements—particularly of post-World War II Europe—that improve and transform the built environment. Following extensive repairs and renovations, the house and property were used to accommodate fellows during their residency and host lectures, symposia, and related events. We entered into a close partnership with GSD, in which we maintained ownership and management of the house and property, while GSD assumed full responsibility for all programmatic activities. Although ownership of the house changed to the Richard Rogers Charitable Settlement in 2021 and subsequently to the National Trust in 2026, our Harvard Global UK entity remains in place to support a variety of University activities and services across the United Kingdom.
