Our gift administration service enables UK donors to support the University's research and education activities in a tax-efficient way.

Advancing Students' Research and Education

Established by Harvard Alumni in 1984 and registered as a UK charity, the Friends of Harvard University UK Trust is “for the advancement and promotion of education and in particular for any educational and charitable purposes connected with Harvard University, its past and present students.”

While our US entity now serves as the trustee, the sole beneficiary is the President and Fellows of Harvard College. The Trust's charity number is 290609.

Benefits of Giving

Tax Relief for Donors

As a UK Charity, Friends of Harvard UK offers tax relief to UK donors via Gift Aid, enabling you to support the University's research and education activities in a tax-efficient way. Donors in higher tax brackets may be able to claim a tax deduction.

Greater Value and Impact for Your Donation

Gift Aid allows Friends of Harvard UK to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated. This means your donation goes 25% further without any additional cost to you. Learn more about Gift Aid.

Harvard Global Services in the UK

This project operates under our U.S. entity, Harvard Global Research and Support Services, Inc., which enables us to serve as the trustee of the charity for the UK and provide our gift administration service.

We have a second UK charity, Harvard Global UK, that operates in England and Wales and enables us to provide our employment, office administration, and gift administration services.
